Mar 5: Allentown – Harrisburg – Breezewood PA

Hey Rocky – Take 2!!

Quincy, MA – Indianapolis, IN
March 5 – 6, 2011

URGENT – Rocky’s parents are leaving on March 9th so this transport MUST FILL for this weekend!!! We didn’t fill it last weekend but failure can’t be an option this time!!

Rocky

Rocky is a “spicy” puggle who is being returned to rescue after being in his adopted home for a little over a year. Because the Puggles & Pitties Inn is full to the brim, Tara Harris & Every Dog Counts Rescue has agreed to take him for us.

Please crosspost like crazy for me and help us get this transport filled for poor Rocky. We don’t want him in a place he’s not wanted for any longer than necessary!

HOLIDAY EXPRESS!!

San Diego, CA to Minneapolis, MN
December 4 -5 and 18, 2010

UPDATE:  Week 2 had to be postponed due to weather conditions in IA and MN.  We are now trying to fill week 2 for December 18th…

HughBear and Linus were pulled from the Pasadena Humane Society. Hugh has been with me for over 2 months now and has made GREAT improvements in his medical condition and his personality. He is now ready to go to MNBR to find his furever home!

Linus has only been with me for about a month but he is a cutie patootie! He is very much a puppy but he is also deaf so he requires a special rescue to find him a special home. He’s going to Wags & Whiskers to find his new family.

This is my last transport for 2010 – let’s send the year out on a high note and get these kids through safe & sound!

RECEIVER (HughBear):

Minnesota Boxer Rescue
Woodbury MN
www.mnboxerrescue.org

About HughBear:

HughBear is 3-5 years old and about 75 lbs. He is being treated for a non-contagious skin infection so will be accompanied by his medication, along with instructions for administering it. He HATES taking meds, so you’ll need to just open his mouth and stick your hand all the way to the back of his throat to drop in the pill. Hugh is becoming more and more playful and inquisitive as he’s feeling better. He likes his crate but he doesn’t understand the idea of not pottying in the crate, so if you crate him, expect to have to clean the crate daily. Very playful and affectionate guy.

RECEIVER (LINUS):

Wags & Whiskers
Minneapolis, MN

http://www.wagsmn.com

About Linus:

Linus is approx 12 weeks old. Very playful, a little rough with those puppy teeth. MUCH like Poppy if you were part of her transport. Linus is DEAF, so can not be called. I’ve been working with him on having him look at his handler or person, so he should check in with you regularly to see what he’s supposed to be doing. Will be sending a crate for Linus just in case Hugh gets tired of the puppy antics during the trip.

FILLED!! 11/13-14 & 20: San Diego CA – OKC – Springfield IL

Sweet Stella Bean!

San Diego, CA to Pekin, IL
November 13 – 14 & 20, 2010

Week One is filled and The Beanie is on her way – let’s make sure she can finish her trip next Saturday!!

Stella was an owner surrender at a mere 7 months old. A personal friend of the rescue’s was beginning to think it was time to get a little sibling for her 4 yr old puggle, so we asked her if she’d be interested in Stella Bean, and of course she said yes!

Stella Bean

Even though this receiver is a friend of ours, we DID do all of the proper screening that we do for ALL dogs in our rescue before agreeing to place Stella with her. Now that Stella’s been spayed, she’s all ready for her journey to the Midwest and is looking forward to being Huebi’s little sister AND the most spoiled little puggle on the planet!

Dog pulled from

RECEIVER (GROVER):

Minnesota Boxer Rescue

Karen Niznik

About Grover:

Grover is a 1 ½ yr old male boxer. He’s already been neutered and is up to date on his shots. He is for sure deaf. He is very skinny. He loves to give boxer hugs, so prepare yourself to be loved on. He is playful like a puppy and it seems he already knows how to sit. He’s adorable, very food motivated, and has the most kissable doggie lips ever!

Observations after a week with Grover: Grover is even more awesome than I thought he was when I met him at the shelter. He is the BEST dog ever – gets along with every dog he meets, loves to cuddle and snuggle with people. Doesn’t always eat breakfast but always eats his dinner. Doesn’t like being crated but will go in when asked. Sleeps like a rock. Only heard him bark when he was crated and I was walking around out of eyesight trying to get dinner ready or get ready for work.

Knows sit: stand straight with arms straight down. Lift right hand up to front of your right shoulder. That’s sit. He will!

To get him to walk with me anywhere, I simply walked up to him and touched his head or ear, turned around and started walking. He’ll follow along with my hand staying on his head the whole time.

If you let him out in a fenced backyard, as long as he’s with other dogs who can hear and who will come when called, he’ll come back too. Otherwise there’s no way to call him since he’s deaf. If he can see you, try patting the front of your thighs and then turning and walking away; he will sometimes follow unless he’s more interested in what he’s doing.

AWESOME dog. I’m head over heels for this lovebug!

About Lefty:

He’s been doing well at my house and gets along with my dogs. Lefty loves the “pack time” he gets with them. He eats very well, is extremely mature for a 10 week-old, loves people, and tolerates being crated, which has made potty training a cinch so far.

He’ll be 12 weeks old when he arrives in Minnesota (est. DOB June 1, 2010). He was tossed from a car along with his brother who has since found a good home with my vet. The Good Samaritan who picked them up and stuck them in boarding bailed on them (and me) and told me she was taking them to the pound about 12 hours after I first met them. I couldn’t turn my back however.

He’s 13 pounds, had his first round of vaccinations (DHLPP) on 8-13, so will be due for a booster in mid-September. He’s received a dose of Drontal (2 tabs) and Sentinel and is flea & parasite free (stool sample negative).

Left WILL BE coming with a crate, leash & collar, ID, etc…
